Bringing Hope To The World

At Children of Firm Foundation, we are dedicated to improving the lives of orphans and vulnerable children in African communities. Our organization was founded in 2012 by Lindah Hachilenge Hagglund, who was moved by the suffering of children who had lost their parents to HIV/AIDS and other common ailments.

Our mission is to bring hope to these children through the distribution of food supplies, school materials, tuition fees, and spiritual support. We believe that every child deserves access to loving and consistent care, health services, good nutrition, education, and interaction with their local community.

Our team of dedicated volunteers work tirelessly to carry out our mission and make a positive impact on the lives of the children we serve. We believe that by providing support and encouragement to these vulnerable children, we can help them grow into responsible and confident adults who can contribute to their communities.

We also work closely with extended families who are willing to provide care for orphaned children. By providing these families with the resources they need to care for their children, we can help keep families together and provide a stable and nurturing environment for children to grow and thrive.

Our Services - What We Do

1. Education

Children of Firm Foundation recognizes the importance of access to education in helping orphaned and vulnerable children to achieve financial independence. We subsidize the cost of school fees, exam fees, books, etc. The children need to apply on a yearly basis for support with school fees. We subsidize these fees for children from 1st to 7th grade. However, we can only guarantee funding on a yearly basis because we cannot predict from year to year the availability of sufficient funds in the charity’s account. We would like to add support for grades 8 through 12 for children who qualify. However, this is an ongoing challenge due to the limited funding available to us. It is not uncommon that the children have no school books and sometimes the only set of books in a classroom are those held by the teacher.

2. Food and Nutrition

Food aid is provided to orphans and vulnerable children. Our food program has brought about a considerable increase in school attendance and has raised a high number of school kid’s level of
concentration during school. Before the food program was introduced, some pupils did not attend school because of the need to forage for food. We provide food program in about 8 surrounding communities.

2. Counseling

Children of Firm Foundation has set up a program for trained counselors to support children who have emotional and psychological problems. We currently have three counselors that have been an enormous benefit to the children. These services are being provided in four different schools that we work with.
